Ownership Membership: risks in plain words
It is a right to stay, not an asset
You buy a contractual right to stay. It is not equity, it does not make you an owner of real estate, it carries no share of the property's value or income, and it is not an investment. Do not buy a membership expecting to make money from it.
Resale is not guaranteed
You can list your membership on the member marketplace, but there may be no buyer, and any price may be lower than what you paid. We give no price guidance.
The service fee continues
From the first anniversary you pay an annual service fee. If it is unpaid, you can't book new weeks until it is.
Weeks depend on the operator
Your weeks are delivered by an independent operator. If the operator leaves the programme, confirmed weeks are honoured and you may choose an equivalent property in the same city or a pro-rata credit for stays booked through aparthotel.com — but the experience may differ from the original property.
Unused weeks expire
Weeks don't roll over to the next membership year. Gift or offer weeks you can't use.
Peak weeks
Some properties exclude certain peak weeks or charge a surcharge for them. Check the property page before you buy.
