Aparthotels and serviced apartments in Abidjan are widely used by business travellers and people on longer assignments, who need a kitchen, a workspace and a base that suits a city built around a lagoon. Wikipedia reports 6.3 million residents at the 2021 census, 21.5 per cent of the country's population, so Abidjan is large, and the district you choose affects your daily travel time more than the property itself.

The Plateau is Abidjan's business centre. Choose a base that matches your daily destination: the Plateau for office-based work, Cocody (including Deux Plateaux and Riviera) for residential stays, and Marcory for the southern side of the lagoon. Because the lagoon splits the city, the bridges and ferry matter for planning commutes.
