Aparthotels and serviced apartments in New York are spread across a city made up of five boroughs, each of which Wikivoyage says could be a large city in its own right. Manhattan is the island between the Hudson and East Rivers where Wikivoyage says most of the skyscrapers are, while Brooklyn and Queens lie across the East River. For a short explanation of the format, see what is an aparthotel.

Wikivoyage places the Empire State Building in Midtown and Times Square in the Theater District, and names Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall among the major venues there. It also names Grand Central Terminal as the terminal for Metro-North Railroad services, and Penn Station and Grand Central as the Manhattan stations for the Long Island Rail Road.
Stays in or near Midtown Manhattan
Wikivoyage lists Wall Street in the Financial District and One World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. The Staten Island Ferry leaves from Battery Park in southern Manhattan, runs between Lower Manhattan and Staten Island every day according to NYC DOT, and is described by Wikivoyage as offering views of the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor.
Stays in or near Lower Manhattan
Wikivoyage places the American Museum of Natural History, with its Hayden Planetarium, in Manhattan's Upper West Side, and Lincoln Center, home of the Metropolitan Opera and the New York Philharmonic, in the same district.
Wikivoyage describes Brooklyn as formerly a separate city, lying south and east of Manhattan across the East River. It places the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Downtown Brooklyn, and lists Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn as a Long Island Rail Road terminal.
Wikivoyage says Long Island City in Queens is home to a number of art museums, including the PS1 Contemporary Art Center and the Museum of the Moving Image. It also lists Long Island City as one of the stations from which the Long Island Rail Road serves Queens and the eastern suburbs.
Stays in or near Long Island City
Wikivoyage says the three large airports serving the region are John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International and LaGuardia, all run by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. It describes the JFK AirTrain as a people mover to the Jamaica subway and Long Island Rail Road stations, and calls the Long Island Rail Road from Jamaica to Penn Station the faster option than the subway. Wikivoyage says Newark has direct access to a railway station.
The MTA runs the subway, the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad, and the official MTA site publishes schedules, maps and planned service changes. Wikivoyage says the subway operates 24 hours a day, every day, and calls it the fastest way to travel around the city. NJ Transit serves New Jersey from Penn Station, and the Staten Island Ferry runs from Battery Park to Staten Island.
Wikivoyage notes that the Long Island Rail Road runs from Long Island City, Penn Station, Grand Central and Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn, and that Metro-North runs from Grand Central. Long Island City and Downtown Brooklyn are therefore both Long Island Rail Road stops.

Wikipedia gives New York City a humid subtropical climate, and Wikivoyage says it experiences all four seasons, with hot and humid summers from June to September, mild to cool autumns, mild to very cold winters from December to March and mild, wet springs. It also says the city can be hit by snowstorms and nor'easters in winter, and by tropical storms in summer and early autumn.
Wikivoyage lists the Tribeca Film Festival each May and the New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center in October, and says the city hosts many parades, street festivals and outdoor pageants.
