Wymara Resort + Villas has brought 97 studios, suites and penthouses into Preferred Hotels & Resorts through the addition of its Grace Bay Beach resort to the Legend Collection. Its 15 private Sunset Cove villas have separately joined Preferred Residences, according to Travel PR News, which dated the announcement to 20 October 2026.

97 units join the Legend Collection

The Grace Bay resort covers four beachfront acres overlooking Grace Bay Beach in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Its 97 studios, suites and penthouses have bright contemporary interiors, large windows and views toward the Caribbean Sea. The 7,000-square-foot mosaic-tiled infinity pool includes private cabanas and floating-island seating areas.

Dining options include Indigo, which serves Caribbean-influenced dishes, the waterfront Blue Water Bistro and Pink Bar for sunset drinks. The spa combines 111SKIN treatments with products from Turks and Caicos-based Wildflower Skincare Lab. Travel Daily Media also reports a daily complimentary wellness programme.

15 villas enter Preferred Residences

Breaking Travel News reports that Wymara Villas, Sunset Cove occupies a private site on Turtle Tail Peninsula, a short distance from the Grace Bay resort. Its 15 villas range from one to six bedrooms, and each has a private infinity pool. Selected villas add over-water swimming decks or slides into the sea.

A dedicated Villa Experience Manager and Butler are available to assist villa guests, while on-demand transportation connects Sunset Cove with the Grace Bay resort and its amenities. The villa-only Sunset Cove Beach Club includes what Wymara describes as the Caribbean’s first ocean pool carved from coastal rock. It also has a lap pool, tennis and pickleball courts, 111SKIN treatment suites and the Land + Sea restaurant, which serves island-inspired food in a waterfront setting.

Preferred Residences is the network’s collection for travellers seeking private, residential-style accommodation with hotel services. The Grace Bay resort has joined the separate, luxury-focused Legend Collection, which is reserved for properties meeting high standards for accommodation, dining, spas and personalised service.

Rewards reach more than 700 properties

Hotel Interactive reports that Preferred Hotels & Resorts is an independent brand representing more than 650 hotels, resorts, residences and hotel groups across 80 countries. Its portfolio is organised into Legend, L.V.X., Lifestyle and Preferred Residences.

Eligible Wymara guests can join I Prefer Hotel Rewards. The programme is listed as having more than 6 million members and more than 700 participating hotels and resorts worldwide. Its benefits include redeemable points and exclusive benefits, while Wymara remains independently operated.

Two Wymara settings keep distinct identities

The Grace Bay resort is the first Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection property in Turks and Caicos. The arrangement gives travellers access to both an oceanfront hotel with studios, suites and penthouses and a separate villa stay on another peninsula.

The villas are intended to provide greater privacy and space without severing the connection to the main resort’s restaurants and amenities. The two collections also reflect Wymara’s separate accommodation formats: Grace Bay is the beachfront resort, while Sunset Cove offers one- to six-bedroom villas and a Beach Club reserved for villa guests.

According to the company, Wymara Villas, Sunset Cove is the first and only Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star property in Turks and Caicos. The company also says Wymara Resort has ranked as the No. 1 hotel in Turks and Caicos on Tripadvisor, while Bruce Maclaren said the property’s restaurants held the top three positions in the destination on Tripadvisor.

"Today marks our next chapter: Wymara Resort, Grace Bay Beach becoming Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ first Legend Collection property in Turks & Caicos, while Wymara Villas, Sunset Cove joins Preferred Residences. We are proud to take our place among the world’s most exceptional luxury hotels and introduce Wymara to an even broader global audience." — Bruce Maclaren, Owner of Wymara Resort + Villas

Wymara CEO Shelley Rincon said the partnership extends the property’s global reach while preserving its distinctive identity, refined sense of place and highly personalised service.
