Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts will reopen Bahia Principe Explore Costa Adeje in Tenerife and Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica in Runaway Bay on 1 December 2026, following year-long renovation programmes. The Tenerife resort has 471 rooms, while the Jamaica property has 647 rooms, and both have three swimming pools, according to Travel Daily Media.

What is reopening in Tenerife?

Bahia Principe Explore Costa Adeje has undergone work covering its accommodation, restaurants, communal spaces, swimming pools and entertainment facilities, as detailed by Breaking Travel News (Premier Construction News). The renewed design draws on Tenerife’s volcanic landscapes and Guanche heritage, with contemporary accommodation and refreshed social spaces intended to reflect the island’s identity.

The property will have 471 rooms, three swimming pools and four restaurants. One of the pools is an infinity pool with Atlantic Ocean views, while the restaurants serve international, Italian and Mongolian specialities alongside relaxed poolside dining.

The wider leisure programme includes games, crafts, live music and karaoke. A dedicated Kids Club will serve children aged four to 12, with activities combining creativity, play and opportunities to learn about Tenerife’s local culture. The resort is aimed at families, friends and groups seeking both leisure and organised entertainment.

  • Bahia Principe Explore Costa Adeje: 471 rooms, three pools and four restaurants.
  • Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: 647 rooms, three pools and seven restaurants.
  • Both properties reopen on 1 December 2026 after year-long renovation programmes.

What does the Jamaica property offer?

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica will return to the portfolio with 647 rooms, three swimming pools, seven restaurants, a water park and the Bahia Principe Village leisure and commercial area. The redesign follows the Roots concept and is intended to reflect Jamaican culture, natural beauty and Caribbean character, according to Democrata. The property is on Jamaica’s northern coastline and has undergone an extensive renovation and recovery programme.

Dining will include international, Italian and Mongolian cuisine, the Route 66 concept and more informal options. The entertainment programme includes live music, karaoke, beach parties, dance classes and sports. Xaymaca The Show will present Jamaican history, music and rhythms, while the Kids Club and other activities include workshops, cycling tours and patois classes.

The renovated Jamaica resort also places a strong emphasis on family-friendly activities. Elements of the island’s heritage are being incorporated into its design, dining and entertainment under the Roots concept.

How do the brand and ownership structure work?

According to the same Democrata report, Bahia Principe retains its brand identity while its hotels have been incorporated into Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection following a joint venture between Hyatt and Piñero. The properties are also integrated into the World of Hyatt platform, which expands their visibility and strengthens their positioning in the international market. The joint venture is structured as a 50/50 arrangement between Hyatt and Piñero.

The group’s architecture separates the family-oriented Explore collection from Escape, which is aimed at adults (HN Magazine). Explore is designed for families, friends and groups seeking relaxation, entertainment and opportunities to discover their destination, while Escape offers a more relaxed and sophisticated experience. Both retain Bahia Principe’s all-inclusive offering.

Soltour, the tour operator that exclusively markets the Bahia Principe holiday offer in the Iberian market, is supporting the reopenings with a campaign and promotions for customers in Spain and Portugal. Soltour CEO Mateo Ramón said the collaboration allows the operator to put its distribution network behind a competitive product in two destinations of strategic relevance for travel agencies.

"The reopening of these two hotels is a significant step for Bahia Principe, because it allows us to bring back two completely renovated strategic assets to our portfolio and strengthen our presence in Tenerife and Jamaica." — Julio Pérez, CEO of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts

How much can guests save?

A campaign marking both reopenings offers savings of up to 50% on bookings. The discounts apply to the Tenerife and Jamaica properties as they return to the portfolio following their year-long renovation programmes.

CEO Julio Pérez said the investment renews Bahia Principe’s commitment to Tenerife and Jamaica and consolidates a more competitive offering for customers (Retail & Leisure International). The renovated resorts also form part of the company’s effort to strengthen its premium all-inclusive portfolio in destinations where it already has a presence.
