Getting around Glasgow

Glasgow Airport is, according to Wikivoyage, 8 miles west of the city centre near Paisley, and the Glasgow Airport Express bus takes 15 minutes to Buchanan Bus Station. The Subway is run by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport. SPT says it has fifteen stations on a circular route with two directions, the Inner Circle and Outer Circle, and that a full circuit takes 24 minutes. Trains run about every four minutes at peak times. SPT also says contactless payment is accepted and that a Subway Smartcard is available for regular travellers. Wikivoyage calls it the third oldest subway system in the world, after London and Budapest, looping around the City Centre, West End and inner suburbs.

The City Centre is walkable, with proper pavements and many pedestrianised streets, according to Wikivoyage. Trains serve Queen Street and Central stations for journeys to other cities.
