Aparthotels and serviced apartments in Memphis are spread from the Mississippi River bluffs in the west to the suburbs in the east. Wikivoyage describes Memphis as a Tennessee city with Graceland among its claims to fame, and says it is considered by many to be the home of blues music, with Beale Street, the Blues Hall of Fame Museum and the National Civil Rights Museum all in the downtown listings.

Wikivoyage says Downtown sits atop the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. Beale Street, which it calls the Home of the Blues, has dozens of bars and clubs, most featuring live music, and the National Civil Rights Museum is in the downtown listings. Amtrak's Memphis Central Station is on South Main Street, just south of downtown.

Wikivoyage describes Midtown as a charming part of the city. It lists Overton Park, which it says encompasses the Memphis Zoo, and a Midtown area of restaurants, shops and entertainment, with Cooper-Young among the neighbourhoods.
Wikivoyage lists Cooper-Young as a neighbourhood of restored homes centred on the intersection of Cooper Street and Young Avenue, which some call the intersection of Memphis. It says the intersection has several bars and restaurants and numerous shops, and that an annual Cooper-Young festival is held in September.
Wikivoyage places East Memphis beyond Midtown, before the suburbs of Germantown, Collierville, Cordova and Bartlett. Its listings for this side of the city include the Memphis Botanic Garden and the Lichterman Nature Center, and it also lists Shelby Farms Park, a large urban park.
Wikivoyage lists Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, among its attractions around town, and calls it the number one tourist attraction in Memphis. Its South Memphis section covers museums such as the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. Memphis International Airport lies south of the city centre, and this side of the city is a separate choice from the Downtown and Midtown areas.
Memphis International Airport is south of the city centre, and Wikivoyage notes that despite its name it does not serve international passenger flights, although the main international hub of a global shipping company is based there. Amtrak's City of New Orleans, between Chicago and New Orleans, serves Memphis Central Station on South Main Street, just south of downtown.
Wikivoyage says that travel by car is really the only way to get around Memphis if you want to do anything other than see Downtown. The Main Street Trolley operates along Main Street within the downtown area, and the Memphis Area Transit Authority runs bus service across the city, with the trolley also listed on its own site. Wikivoyage warns that some bus routes are very poorly served in the evenings.
Wikivoyage's layout of the city is a useful guide for choosing where to stay for longer: Downtown is in the west, Midtown follows moving east, then East Memphis, and then the suburbs. The area between Downtown and Midtown is known locally as Crosstown, and Wikivoyage says there is a movement to turn it into an artist community, although most of the art district is on South Main.
Wikivoyage lists Cooper-Young among the Midtown neighbourhoods with their own restaurants, bars and shops, and describes Midtown as a charming part of the city. Overton Park, the Botanic Garden and Shelby Farms Park give a longer stay several green spaces to use.
Wikivoyage warns that Memphis is extremely hot in the summer, with humidity making it feel hotter, and says those who have trouble tolerating high heat and humidity may wish to avoid visiting in July and August.
Seasonal events include the Cooper-Young festival in September, according to Wikivoyage, whose listing for the Memphis Zoo also mentions a Lantern Festival in wintertime.
Wikivoyage explains that Memphis is laid out in a more or less east-west fashion, with Downtown on the west, then Midtown, East Memphis and the suburbs beyond, so this page follows that order. For the format itself, see what is an aparthotel, and browse the USA hub for other destinations. Amtrak's City of New Orleans links Memphis with Chicago.
