Aparthotels & serviced apartments in Pattaya

35 stays · 30 aparthotels and 5 serviced apartments

Pattaya is a Gulf of Thailand resort city about 150 km south-east of Bangkok, and its skyline of high-rise condominiums means aparthotels and serviced apartments are a large part of what is on offer. Apartment-style stays suit Pattaya well for longer visits: families appreciate separate bedrooms and a kitchen, and business travellers working in the Eastern Economic Corridor need a base that works for longer stays.

Central Pattaya and Beach Road

  • beach

The stretch of Beach Road around Central Pattaya Road is the city's busiest, with the Central Festival shopping centre, restaurants and the main beach across the road. The songthaew circuit along Beach Road and Second Road passes almost continuously, so it is easy to reach the rest of the bay without a car.

  • quieter stays

Pratumnak (Phra Tamnak Hill) sits on the headland between South Pattaya and Jomtien, topped by the temple of Wat Phra Yai and popular for its viewpoints and small beaches. It is a calmer, greener base, but there is no regular songthaew service, so you will rely on taxis, ride-hailing apps or a motorbike.

Getting around Pattaya

Most international visitors arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, around 110 km away. The 389 airport bus connects the airport with Pattaya, with stops at Pattaya Nuea (North), Klang (Central) and Tai (South) roads. U-Tapao International Airport is closer to the city, with transfers by road taking about 30 to 50 minutes. Buses from Bangkok's Ekkamai, Mo Chit and Southern terminals arrive at the bus station on North Pattaya Road, and the State Railway of Thailand's Eastern Line also serves Pattaya station, so check the current timetable.

Around town, the blue songthaews (shared pick-up trucks, locally called baht buses) are the main form of transport. The busiest circuit runs north along Second Road and south along Beach Road; flag one down, hop in the back and pay when you get off. Songthaews for Jomtien leave from Pratumnak Road near South Pattaya Road. Taxi drivers generally do not use the meter, so agree the fare first or use a ride-hailing app.

Living in Pattaya for longer

For longer stays, the central districts have the most convenience, including Central Festival on Beach Road for shopping and food courts. Jomtien and Naklua suit longer-term visitors who prefer a quieter, more residential feel.

East of Sukhumvit Road and the railway line, East Pattaya is mostly residential. A hire car is useful for exploring it and the wider Chonburi coast, including Si Racha. If you are moving for work, our guide to serviced apartments for relocation may help.

When to visit Pattaya

Pattaya has a tropical wet and dry climate: hot and dry from December to February, hot and humid in March and April, and hot and rainy from May to November, with September and October the wettest months.

Songkran (Thai New Year) is celebrated in April with water fights, and Pattaya holds its main celebrations a few days later than much of the country, around 18 to 19 April according to Wikivoyage. The Pattaya Festival is also listed for April, so check dates before you book.

The city is really a chain of beachfront districts. The main Pattaya Beach runs for about 2.7 km between North and South Pattaya, with the quieter bays of Naklua and Wong Amat to the north, and Pratumnak Hill and the long sweep of Jomtien to the south.
