The official tourism site presents Place Stanislas as forming, with Place de la Carrière and Place d'Alliance, a classified ensemble built between 1752 and 1756. Wikivoyage says the square was built by Stanislas Leszczyński in the 18th century, and lists the Arc Héré, Place de la Carrière and the Musée des Beaux-Arts nearby. Wikivoyage places the tourist office in the south-west corner of the square, in the city hall building. Wikipedia calls Place Stanislas a large pedestrianised square that linked the medieval old town and the newer town.

Wikipedia calls the Vieille Ville - Léopold quarter the oldest part of Nancy, containing the 14th-century Porte de la Craffe, the Palace of the Dukes of Lorraine and the Saint-Epvre basilica. Wikivoyage says Place Saint-Epvre has many cafés and restaurants.

Wikivoyage describes Gare de Nancy-Ville as the historical railway station in the heart of the city and a major hub for national, including TGV, and regional trains. It also lists a STAN network office, Espace Transport, at the station. Wikivoyage says walking from the station to Porte Sainte-Catherine takes about 20 minutes.

Wikivoyage describes the Pépinière as a park in the heart of the city with a small zoo, bars and a children's puppet theatre. The official tourism site gives its area as 21 hectares with lawns, a rose garden and a play area, and says it opened to the public in 1835.

Wikivoyage says Villa Majorelle was constructed in 1902 by architects of the École de Nancy, and lists the Musée de l'École de Nancy dedicated to the Art Nouveau movement. The official tourism site calls Nancy the French capital of Art Nouveau and describes the villa (1901-1902) as the first Art Nouveau construction in the city.

Wikivoyage says coaches, including Flixbus, usually stop at Porte Sainte-Catherine near the marina, and describes a promenade along the canal near the marina. The Canal de la Marne au Rhin crosses Nancy, and the Port de Nancy Saint-Georges is on the eastern edge of the city centre, 500 m from Place Stanislas.

Wikivoyage says Nancy has two major railway stations. Gare de Nancy-Ville is in the heart of the city, with Paris about 1 hr 30 min by TGV, Strasbourg 1 hr 15 min and Luxembourg 1 hr 30 min. Gare Lorraine-TGV is 20 km north and reached by road, with an SNCF shuttle to Gare de Nancy-Ville. Metz-Nancy-Lorraine Airport is a small regional airport about 30 km north of Nancy.
Wikivoyage calls the city centre very compact, with many streets pedestrian-only. Local public transport is run by STAN, and Wikivoyage mentions bike routes in the Greater Nancy area and the VéloStan'lib bike rental.
