Getting around Lyon
Lyon-Saint-Exupéry airport is about 25 km east of the city. Rhônexpress runs between the airport and Part-Dieu in about 30 minutes, with trains every 15 minutes from 4:25 a.m. to midnight according to the operator. The airport's own site also lists bus, taxi and car-rental options.
Within the city, the TCL network has four metro lines (A to D), several tram lines and two funiculars up to Fourvière and Saint-Just, per Wikivoyage. Part-Dieu and Perrache are the main railway stations, with TGV links to Paris in around two hours. The central districts are compact enough to walk.
Living in Lyon for longer
Part-Dieu and the Presqu'île have everyday amenities and good transport links, which helps if you are staying for weeks. Lyon has a reputation for food, so a kitchen lets you make use of market produce as well as eating out in bouchons.
