Cebu City is the largest city in Central Visayas and a major business centre, which makes aparthotels and serviced apartments a practical choice. Many visitors are here for weeks rather than days, working in the offices of Cebu IT Park or Cebu Business Park, and a kitchen, workspace and laundry facilities make a long assignment far more comfortable than a hotel room. Families on their way to the islands also appreciate the extra space.

An upscale office district in the north of the city with a large expatriate community and a wide choice of international restaurants. It is the northern terminus of the new Cebu BRT line, which runs south through Fuente Osmeña to the South Road Properties.
Stays in or near Cebu IT Park (Lahug)
A premium business and shopping district built around the Ayala Center mall, with consulates, offices and international hotels. It is a convenient, walkable base for corporate stays, with restaurants and supermarkets on the doorstep.
Stays in or near Cebu Business Park
The roundabout on Osmeña Boulevard at the centre of the city, busy by day with shops, restaurants and hotels and a nightlife area in the evening. It is a major interchange on the BRT line and close to the Capitol.
Stays in or near Fuente Osmeña
The oldest part of the city near the port, around Colon Street, the oldest national road in the Philippines. Magellan's Cross and the city's historic churches are here, along with Carbon Market, the oldest and largest farmers' market in Cebu.
A 300-hectare development on reclaimed land south of downtown, anchored by the huge SM Seaside mall with cinemas, bowling and an ice rink. It is the southern end of the BRT line, with a stop at SM Seaside.
Mactan-Cebu International Airport is on Mactan Island across the channel from the city. MyBus and other airport buses connect it with the city, alongside metered taxis and ride-hailing; the trip usually takes around 45 minutes, but traffic can make it much longer.
Jeepneys run around the clock across Metro Cebu, and air-conditioned MyBus routes link the main malls and districts. The Cebu BRT began partial operations in March 2026 on its 13.6 km route between Cebu IT Park and the South Road Properties via Fuente Osmeña, though parts still run in mixed traffic. Distances look short on the map, but allow extra time in rush hours.
Large malls such as Ayala Center, SM City Cebu and SM Seaside have supermarkets, pharmacies and everyday services, so most errands can be done in one trip. For fresh produce at local prices, Carbon Market downtown is the city's main market.
Base yourself within walking distance of your office if you can, since traffic is the biggest daily challenge. Expect warm, humid weather throughout the year and keep an eye on typhoon warnings during the wetter months.
Cebu City has a tropical monsoon climate with average temperatures of about 27–29°C all year. March and April are the only truly dry months, and around 1,700 mm of rain falls in an average year, with typhoons possible during the wet season.
The Sinulog Festival, honouring the Santo Niño, is held on the third Sunday of January and is the city's biggest event, so book well ahead if you plan to visit then.
Traffic can be heavy, so choosing an apartment close to where you will spend most of your time matters more here than in many cities. For beach stays across the channel, see Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan, or browse the Philippines hub.
