Aparthotels & serviced apartments in Manila

240 stays · 198 aparthotels and 42 serviced apartments · from €69/night

Metro Manila is not one centre but several: 16 cities and a municipality, with business, shopping and leisure districts spread across the region. That is why aparthotels and serviced apartments work so well in Manila. Picking a base close to where you actually need to be, with a kitchen and room to work, saves hours in traffic, and the apartment format suits the long business trips and relocations that the capital's financial districts generate.

Where to stay in Manila

Makati CBD

  • business travel
  • long stays
  • dining

The country's best-known financial district, laid out around Ayala Avenue, the Ayala Triangle Gardens and the Ayala Center cluster of malls. Salcedo and Legazpi villages mix office towers with parks and weekend community markets. MRT Line 3 stops at Ayala station, and the One Ayala hub is a terminus for many city bus routes.

Bonifacio Global City (BGC)

  • business travel
  • families
  • long stays

A planned district on the former Fort Bonifacio military base, with a walkable grid around Bonifacio High Street, parks with running paths, and a large private hospital. Uptown Bonifacio sits close to several international schools, which makes BGC a common choice for relocating families (see our relocation guide). It is not on a rail line, so plan on buses and ride-hailing.

The traditional tourist belt along Roxas Boulevard and Manila Bay, close to Rizal Park, Intramuros and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Malate's Remedios Circle is the long-standing nightlife hub, and Robinsons Place Manila is the city's largest mall. LRT Line 1 runs along Taft Avenue with several stations in both districts.

Getting around Manila

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) lies about 8 km south of the City of Manila. Yellow airport taxis and Grab cars wait at arrivals in every terminal; fixed-rate coupon taxis are also sold but cost far more. From Terminal 3, UBE Express runs a loop bus to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) for LRT Line 1, and express buses run to several districts. There is no rail link yet: work on the Metro Manila Subway station at Terminal 3 began in 2026, and the full subway line is targeted to open in 2031.

Three rail lines matter: LRT-1 (green) north–south through Malate, Ermita and towards Binondo; LRT-2 (blue) east–west via Quiapo and Cubao; and MRT-3 (yellow) along EDSA, serving Ortigas, Makati and the edge of BGC. Each line is a separate fare. The EDSA Carousel busway shadows MRT-3, and premium P2P buses link malls and business districts. Traffic is severe, so avoid rush hours and allow generous time.

Living in Manila for longer

Buy a Beep card early: it works on the LRT, MRT and many buses and modern jeepneys, and can be bought and topped up at stations and convenience stores. MRT-3 and LRT-2 also accept contactless Visa and Mastercard cards. Ride-hailing apps (Grab, and motorbike apps such as Angkas and JoyRide) are the easiest way around districts without rail.

Malls are where daily life happens: the large ones contain supermarkets, pharmacies, medical clinics, gyms and cinemas under one roof, which is handy in the wet season. English is widely spoken and written. For trips beyond the capital, browse more of the Philippines.

When to visit Manila

Manila has a tropical monsoon climate with high humidity all year. The dry season runs from late December to early April, with the hottest weather towards April and May. The wet season covers the rest of the year, usually with short, heavy downpours rather than all-day rain, and typhoons are most likely between June and September.

Key dates: New Year, then Chinese New Year in Binondo (January or February), and the Feast of the Black Nazarene on 9 January, when the Traslación procession fills Quiapo and the surrounding streets. All Saints' Day on 1 November sees families travel to cemeteries.

Most visitors split between two halves of the metro, and our Makati and Pasay pages cover those districts in more detail. The City of Manila proper holds the heritage, museums and universities, while the south — Makati, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig and the Bay Area — has the offices, the largest malls and most of the newer residential towers. Decide which half your days belong to before you book.
