Aparthotels & serviced apartments in Gdańsk

77 stays · 52 aparthotels and 25 serviced apartments

Gdańsk is Poland's sixth-largest city and the heart of the Tricity, a metropolitan area of about 1.5 million people shared with Gdynia and the resort town of Sopot. Aparthotels and serviced apartments suit it well: many visitors combine the restored Main Town with Baltic beaches and day trips along the coast, and a kitchen and living space make a week or more far easier, whether you are travelling as a family or here for work at the universities and business centres.

Getting around Gdańsk

Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport, Poland's third-busiest, is about 12 km north-west of the city. The Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway (PKM) connects it with Gdańsk Wrzeszcz, where you can change for the city centre, and with Gdynia, and city buses also link the airport with the centre.

Within the Tricity, SKM suburban trains run about every 15 minutes between Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia until late evening. Trams and buses are run by ZTM Gdańsk and are frequent; time-based tickets cover transfers, and the Jakdojade app is useful for planning routes and buying tickets. The Main Town is compact and best explored on foot.

Living in Gdańsk for longer

Wrzeszcz is the most practical district for a longer stay, with large shopping centres on Grunwaldzka Street, a busy SKM station and everyday services. For fresh food, the Market Hall near the Main Town is the place for fresh produce.

Winters are cold, with January averaging around -1°C and occasional much colder spells, so check heating and insulation if you are staying between November and March. Bring layers even in summer, as evenings by the Baltic can be cool.

When to visit Gdańsk

Gdańsk has a cool climate shaped by the Baltic. The best weather runs from mid-May to mid-September, with daytime highs around 22°C in July and August; July is also the wettest month. Even in August, when it is warmest, the Baltic is cool for swimming.

St Dominic's Fair, held since 1260, fills the Old Town streets for three weeks from late July into August and draws large crowds, so book early for summer stays.

Fast suburban trains link the whole Tricity, so a base in Gdańsk works for exploring the coast too. See Sopot for a seaside alternative, or the Poland hub for other cities, and our explainer on what an aparthotel is if the format is new to you.
