Getting around Nuevo Vallarta

Wikipedia says the community is around 15 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta's airport by car, which makes airport transfers short. Wikivoyage describes Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR) as the largest regional option, with frequent flights to major Mexican airports and US cities, and explains that local buses leave from the Walmart stop in Puerto Vallarta, where you look for the bus marked Nuevo Vallarta.

Wikivoyage also says that for Bucerías and Punta Mita you look for the bus with Punta Mita in the windshield. The community is laid out as a resort development along the canals and beach, so check on the map how far a particular apartment is from the beach, marina and shops before you book. Confirm current bus routes locally, as they can change.
