Bibione is a seaside resort in the Veneto region of northern Italy, on a peninsula between the Lugugnana canal and the Tagliamento river, with the Adriatic on one side. Aparthotels and serviced apartments are at the heart of how people holiday here: Wikipedia notes that the resort offers around 100,000 beds across hotels, holiday apartments and campsites, and a flat with a kitchen suits families and groups who come for a week or more of beach days.

Bibione Spiaggia is one of the resort's four districts and the one whose name simply means beach. Wikipedia says the centre of Bibione has Corso Europa and other large streets filled with cafés, shops and restaurants, and the intercity coach station in Via Maja is in this district, so arriving by ATVO bus from Venice airport or Portogruaro does not need a car.

Bibione has no airport of its own. The nearest international airports are about 100 km away: Venice Marco Polo, Treviso and Trieste. A travel guide says that it is preferable to pick up a car at the airport, because local transport is not frequent and direct. ATVO coaches connect Bibione with Venice, Mestre and Marco Polo Airport, as well as Portogruaro, Udine and Pordenone, and depart from the bus station in Via Maja.
By train, the nearest station is Latisana-Lignano-Bibione, about 20 km away on the Venice-Trieste line, with regular bus connections to the resort. Once there, the beach cycleway is about 10 km long and four regional cycleways reach the town. Two summer urban bus routes also run. Ferries run to Lignano Sabbiadoro and Caorle, daily from May to September and at weekends in April and October.
Bibione is a seasonal resort, so a longer stay here is a beach holiday stretched out, and a flat with a kitchen helps you eat at your own pace and keep a family routine. A travel guide also lists the Punta Tagliamento lighthouse and the Bibione Thermae spa among attractions that fill days off the sand.
Bring or hire bikes if you plan to stay a while, since the 10 km beach cycleway is the main way to get along the resort. Our relocation guide has tips on what to check when you rent a flat for a month or more.
