Capo Vaticano is a granite headland on Calabria's Tyrrhenian coast, and aparthotels and serviced apartments are a natural fit because most visitors come for a beach week or longer: a kitchen for simple lunches, a terrace or living area for the evening, and enough room for families sharing one base while they explore the coast by car.

The headland itself carries the lighthouse and gives the area its name. Wikipedia describes a coastline running from Santa Maria beach to Tonicello beach, with notable bays such as Praia I Focu and Grotticelle. Staying close to the cape suits visitors who want the quietest setting and are happy to rely on a car.

Grotticelle is the best-known beach area. Wikipedia's article on Ricadi describes its three bays as the most famous bathing places of the municipality, with hundreds of tourist structures built nearby since the mid-1980s, and the national tourism portal Italia.it calls it a long sandy shore formed by three adjoining beaches. Wikivoyage lists it first among the beaches. It suits a beach-focused week.

Santa Domenica is one of the nine frazioni, or subdivisions, of Ricadi. It is further north along the coast, closer to Tropea, which makes it a practical base if you want a village setting with the larger town within reach.
Tropea lies at the northern end of the stretch of coast that Italia.it calls the Coast of the Gods. Wikivoyage describes it as renowned for its beaches and for Calabrian culture, with a historic centre of churches, cafes and Calabrian restaurants, and its station lies about 350 m from that centre. It suits visitors who want evening life on foot and are happy to travel to the cape for the beach.
Wikivoyage's Tropea guide gives Lamezia Terme airport as about 60 km away, with Reggio Calabria's airport 100 km to the south, and says that by road the area is reached from the A3 motorway through the Pizzo or Rosarno exits. By train, take the Lamezia Terme to Rosarno line to the Ricadi-Capo Vaticano station, though Wikivoyage warns that the station is rather distant from both Ricadi and the cape, with around 2 km to walk to the lighthouse. It adds that public buses stop in more convenient places than the station.
The beaches and viewpoints along the headland are spread out, so most visitors use a car. In Tropea, the historic centre is a restricted traffic zone and is best explored on foot, and Wikivoyage warns of many steep stairs between the seashore and the centre. If you do not drive, the buses and the train are the practical options, and it is worth checking timetables in advance.
For a longer stay, a base with a kitchen is useful. The local economy of Ricadi centres on agriculture, fishing and tourism, and Wikipedia mentions red onions, citrus fruits and 'nduja among local products, so market and shop visits are part of the routine. Having a car is the most practical way to reach supermarkets and beaches around the headland.
Santa Domenica or Tropea give you more of a village or town routine, while the headland and Grotticelle are the best choice for beach days. Remote workers should check the connection and desk space in advance, and serviced apartments for relocation has a checklist for longer bookings.
Wikivoyage's Tropea guide says tourism peaks between May and October, which is the beach season along this coast. Wikivoyage describes the area as a beach destination, so it is worth checking opening times locally if you plan to travel outside those months.
The coast is also notable for its views. The Costa degli Dei overlooks the Aeolian Islands, Italia.it recommends the walk to the lighthouse at the top of the promontory for sunset over Stromboli, and Wikivoyage mentions views of the Stromboli volcano from a church in Tropea.
The cape belongs to the municipality of Ricadi in the province of Vibo Valentia and reaches about 124 metres at its highest point. Wikipedia describes it as formed of a particular white-grey granite studied for its geology, and Wikivoyage calls the area mostly famous for sandy beaches with very clean water. It sits on the Costa degli Dei, a 55 km stretch of coast. This page sets out where to stay, how to get here, and when to go.
