The official Alta Badia site says the core of the village consists of the Ciastel Colz castle and a parish church built in 1516 and dedicated to Saint Mary of the Assumption. It adds that a Ski World Cup race is held on the Gran Risa slope in December, and that in summer the village is the starting point of the Maratona dles Dolomites.
