Konyaalti, on the western side of Antalya, is a good match for aparthotels and serviced apartments. The district is built around a long pebble beach rather than a single resort strip, so visitors who stay for a week or more can pair a kitchen and living space with daily time by the sea. Families, remote workers and groups travelling together tend to appreciate having room to spread out and the option to cook some meals themselves. If the format is new to you, our guide explains what an aparthotel is.

The central stretch of the beach is the obvious base for a seaside stay. Wikivoyage lists the Antalya Aquarium on Dumlupınar Boulevard in Konyaaltı, with the Waterhill aqua park opposite and the Akturpark funfair next door, so there is plenty to fill days with children. Wikipedia notes the water is a little cooler here than at other Antalya beaches because of an underground creek flowing into the sea.

Liman is a neighbourhood at the western end of the Konyaalti coast. It suits visitors who prefer to be further from the busiest part of the beach while staying in the same district. Allow time for tram or bus connections if you plan to spend most days in the city centre.

Hurma is another Konyaalti neighbourhood, further west along the coast than Liman. It is a place for those who want a residential base with a calmer rhythm than the beachfront, and who are happy to use local transport for sightseeing.

The Antalya Museum stands at Konyaaltı Caddesi 88 and, according to Wikivoyage, has about 5,000 items on display illustrating the history of the Mediterranean and Pamphylia regions, and a repository of some 25,000 more. Wikipedia lists the Antalya Museum among the places served by the T3 tram line, which makes this a convenient pocket for visitors who like to explore without a car.
Kaleici is the walled old town of Antalya, where Wikipedia says most of the city's historical architecture is concentrated, mostly from the medieval Seljuk period. Wikivoyage lists Hadrian's Gate and the Fluted Minaret Mosque among its sights. It lies east of Konyaalti, so visitors staying on the beach usually reach it by tram or bus.
Antalya Airport lies about 13 km north-east of the city centre according to Wikipedia. Wikivoyage describes the AntRay tram line 1A running from the airport to the downtown area every 15 minutes between 06:00 and 00:00, taking around 50 minutes, and bus route 600 serving the bus station roughly every 30 minutes.
Wikivoyage describes AntalyaKart as a reloadable transport card that gives discounts when used more often, sold and topped up at kiosks along the tramway, at the airport and at the bus terminal. Wikipedia lists three tram lines: the modern T1 (AntRay), the heritage T2 and the T3, which opened in stages and serves places such as the Antalya Museum. Wikipedia says the T2 heritage line was temporarily closed on 17 July 2026 and replaced by buses for safety assessments and works expected to last around two years, so check the current network before relying on it. Two further lines are planned to link Konyaalti and Lara, according to Wikipedia.
Because Konyaalti is a large municipality with 39 neighbourhoods and a 2022 population of 204,795, according to Wikipedia, it has everyday infrastructure beyond tourism. For a longer stay, pick a neighbourhood back from the beach to get a more local feel and a walkable run of shops, then use the beach promenade for exercise and evenings out.
Wikivoyage says western package holidays do not base in Konyaalti, unlike the eastern Lara strip, which makes it a less resort-focused part of the city. Wikipedia lists Akdeniz University Hospital among the institutions served by the T3 tram line, which is useful to know if you are visiting for study or medical reasons.
