Brisbane is a river city with a subtropical climate, and life here happens outdoors, on the water and in the inner suburbs. Aparthotels and serviced apartments in Brisbane suit that: a kitchen and living area help families on holiday, business travellers working from the CBD for weeks at a time, and visitors using the city as a base for the coast.

The Airtrain runs from the Domestic and International terminals into the city, reaching Central station in about 22 minutes, with stops including Roma Street and Fortitude Valley. Trains run every 15 minutes at weekday peaks and every half-hour off-peak, and most services continue to the Gold Coast.
Translink runs the city's buses, trains and ferries, and the go card works across all of them. The CityCat ferries, including the all-stops F1 and express F1x, are a quick and pleasant way to move along the river, and cross-river services fill the gaps between bridges.
Translink currently applies a flat fare to any journey regardless of distance or mode, which makes daily travel simple; a go card is the simplest way to pay. Basing yourself near a CityCat stop or a train station keeps you connected without a car.
