Badesi is a small town on the northern coast of Sardinia, and aparthotels and serviced apartments give a kitchen, living space and separate bedrooms to a stay near its long beaches, the Coghinas river delta and the wind sports. Our guide explains what an aparthotel is if the format is new to you.

Gallura Oggi describes Li Junchi as a wide beach of golden sand with bathing establishments, refreshment points, showers and play areas, where windsurfing and kitesurfing are practised, and says it is accessible for people with reduced mobility. It also mentions walks among the dunes and Mediterranean scrub, and wind-sport schools offering courses for all levels.
Sardegna Turismo describes Li Mindi as a wide beach of white sand that stretches for kilometres, with fine dunes and juniper trees, and views towards Castelsardo and Isola Rossa. Gallura Oggi says it is reached via a nature path and is surrounded by juniper and mastic vegetation.
Sardegna Turismo mentions Isola Rossa, Castelsardo and Valledoria as nearby places, and says Isola Rossa and Castelsardo can be seen from Li Mindi. Isola Rossa is in a neighbouring municipality; Wikipedia lists Trinità d'Agultu e Vignola, Valledoria and Viddalba as Badesi's neighbours.
Wikipedia places Badesi about 50 km west of Olbia and about 200 km north of Cagliari. Gallura Oggi gives Olbia airport as the nearest, about 80 km away, with onward options by taxi, hire car or the public bus service linking Olbia with Gallura towns including Badesi, and lists Alghero-Fertilia airport at about 90 km.
Gallura Oggi says the nearest railway station is Sassari, about 50 km away, with buses and car hire for the rest of the journey, that the SS 200 road links Sassari with the coast, and that buses run from Sassari, Alghero, Olbia and Porto Torres. It also says Li Mindi is reached by a short walk along a nature path.
Sardegna Turismo says the exposure to mistral winds makes the shore ideal for windsurfing all year, so the sport is not limited to summer. Gallura Oggi lists kayaking, trekking and birdwatching around the mouth of the Coghinas river, which it describes as a nature reserve, and Sardegna Turismo says the coast is an EU place of interest because of the marsh and the migratory birds that nest in the river reeds.
For tips on stays beyond a holiday, see our guide to serviced apartments for relocation. Gallura Oggi says the town has a municipal library near the sea and a Bibliospiaggia service for borrowing books on Li Junchi beach, and Sardegna Turismo mentions vineyards producing Vermentino di Gallura in the hills around the town.
Sardegna Turismo says windsurfing is possible all year thanks to the mistral, and describes summer as the time when the Estate Badesana programme of events draws visitors to the area.
Sardegna Turismo lists a summer carnival and a food festival in August within the Estate Badesana, and an international surfcasting competition, the Trofeo Magrini, in May. Gallura Oggi also lists a summer carnival, a beer festival and food festivals.
