Pigeon Island (Güvercinada) is reached from town by a 200 m causeway, according to Wikivoyage, and its castle has been restored as a museum. GoTürkiye describes Kuşadası as a major turn-around port for cruise lines and notes a surviving historic gate on a walking path from the port. Wikivoyage also lists the Öküz Mehmed Pasha Caravanserai by the harbour entrance.

Wikivoyage lists a Migros supermarket near the harbour and rug shops by the harbour, and says taxis cluster by the sea port and bus station. It also says the town beach between the port and the marina is one for viewing the sunset rather than bathing.

Ladies Beach (Kadınlar Denizi) was for women only in Ottoman times but has long been mixed, according to Wikivoyage, which says it gets very crowded being so close to town. Wikipedia describes it as very close to the town centre and one of the primary tourist attractions.

Wikivoyage describes Long Beach as stretching for 10 km down to Güzelçamlı at the start of the peninsula, with multiple access points and southern portions with names including Davutlar, Sevgi and Venus. Beaches are free to access, but Wikivoyage says hotels guard their own terrain.
Güzelçamlı is at the start of the Dilek Peninsula. Wikipedia says dolmuş shuttle buses and ferries run between Kuşadası and Güzelçamlı, which sits directly west of the national park, and names coves such as İçmeler and Aydınlık. Wikivoyage says Mount Samsun (ancient Mount Mycale) is covered with dense forests and there are many hiking trails.
Wikivoyage says the nearest railway station is Selçuk, 20 km north-east, with IZBAN suburban trains from Izmir via Adnan Menderes Airport. Direct buses from Istanbul take 9 to 10 hours, with operators including Metro Turizm and Pamukkale, and the inter-city Otogar is by the D515 highway at the east edge of town, so you will need a taxi or dolmuş to reach your accommodation.
Wikivoyage recommends dolmuş for travel along the coast strip, and says Ephesus, 15 km north-east of town, is easily reached by dolmuş or taxi. It also lists seasonal foot-passenger ferries to Samos from April to October, a one-hour sailing to Vathi.
Wikivoyage lists a Migros near the harbour and A101 as the commonest chain store further out. Wikipedia says there is a substantial community of foreigners who have settled in the area permanently.
